SASE National Conference

Eastern Echo

A rising name in the community, Eastern Echo is blazing the trail for Asian fusion music in Texas, with its 2014 debut concert heralded as a “milestone in Chinese folk music’s development." Seamlessly spanning the breadth of East and West and of old and new, the group artfully weaves a fresh, modern perspective that blends ethnic traditions from Asia, Western classical sensibilities, pop, jazz, hip-hop, and more. Individually, each member is a superb performer with an impressive résumé; together, their emergent style of “new age folk music” represents a rich and distinct voice in world music today.

Both strengthening and redefining their ancestry through music for America in the 21st century, Eastern Echo combines the ancient paths of Asian melodies and instruments and modern musical sensibilities. Eastern Echo is pleased to be able to provide a relaxing environment for the SASE National Conference in Houston.

Nishani Bhangra

One of the most popular dances amongst the Asian cultural heritage is the Bhangra. Bhangra is a fast paced high energy dance originating from the Punjab Region in Northwestern India and Pakistan. The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) is pleased to provide a Bhangra experience at the NC 2015 in Houston.

Prepare to start your Friday morning with a performance by Houston’s own Nishani Bhangra. The group has participated in several competitions and is regarded as a premier performer. Nishani Bhangra will provide a dance group of four dancers to provide a pulse pounding entertainment to start of our day. We hope all will enjoy.
